On the Ice

Woog_practice1_small

Players are on the ice three times per day. We start first thing in the morning with a 45 minute high tempo power skating class. Power skating will focus on forward and backwards skating and strides, stops and starts, crossovers and crossunders, power turns, edges & Agility.

Then in the afternoon players will take the ice again for two hours of skills and techniques classes. Skills stations will include puck handling, passing, and shooting. Technique classes include face offs, checking, zone entry, puck protection, gap control, blocking shots, and cycling.

In the evening its still about learning but also about fun! At the beggining of camp players are drafted into small teams for a 3 on 3 tournament that takes place each evening. The games are small area games played cross ice with coaches providing instruction during games.

Dart Fish Video Analysis

We are very excited about offering Dart Fish Video Analysis in our camp package. During camp players will be videoed while performing a variety of skills. The dart fish software technology allows us to overlay video of a player performing a particular skill properly over each our our camper performing the same skill. This allows us to show the athlete where they need to focus and improve in their skills. At the end of the week coaches will review the video with players. Each player attending camp will then be able to access their analysis from the web and download it later at home if they choose. *Dartfish Video will onlt be at Camp 1 in June.

Dryland Training

Acceleration_treadmill_small

Each day players will take part in a wide variety of Dry-Land training classes. Players will be intorduced to a variey of activities and excerises that they will be able to use after leaving camp and returning home. Dryland training will include plyo streching and jumping excerises, puck-handling and shooting all designed to be done at home. There will also be a striding class at Acceleration Minnesota which will be video taped for individual analysis.
